The Gem of Northern California
With mountains all around, miles of hiking and biking trails, a river running through it, and national parks nearby, Redding is an outdoor paradise for young and old alike. Cradled by Mount Shasta and Mount Lassen, Redding has 300+ sunny days per year. It's a great place to escape the chill of spring and the gray days of winter, too!
Want a list of possibilities? TIME magazine called Redding the Unofficial Capital of Kayaking for its "weird obsession" with all things paddling. With temperate weather, nearby lakes, and that river in the middle of town, it would be "weird" to not get out and enjoy it all! Let the good times flow with a visit to Whiskeytown National Recreation Area, a great place to kayak, sail, SUP, or just float on your back.

At NorCal Trail Rides, we offer safe, comfortable trail rides throughout the Northern California area. We supply the horses, tack, helmets and an experienced wrangler to guide your ride.
Safety is always our main focus to insure that everybody has a worry free ride and enjoy the beautiful scenery; we take out rides seven days a week year round. Call (530) 515-8958 for times as they change depending on season and weather.
Children have to be over the age of eight (8) to go out on the trail with us, but the little ones can still take lessons and ride in our arenas. Let us make your special day even more special!
DISCOVER THE NATURAL WONDER OF LAKE SHASTA
Lake Shasta Caverns National Natural Landmark is a geologic adventure for your whole family. Take part in a robust and comprehensive tour to see the caverns and lake in their glory. Along the way, you might see local animals, like bald eagles, mountain lions and black bears! One of my favorite things to do while at Shasta Caverns is to go on their evening dinner cruise. Fun for the whole family and great food and hospitality as well!
shasta dam
Shasta Dam is a curved gravity dam across the Sacramento River at Lake Shasta. The dam generates hydroelectric power and at 602 feet high, is the ninth-tallest dam in the United States and forms the largest reservoir in California. Reclamation holds guided tours of the Shasta Dam year round, each taking two to three hours. The tours comprise a 428-foot elevator ride to the base of the dam, and visits to the dam's inner galleries and the powerhouse among other areas. Shasta Lake has a surface of 30,310 acres at full pool and is surrounded by the Shasta-Trinity National Forest. Water-skiing, swimming and fishing are among the numerous activities available at the lake.
Get your gear here before your trip
We have partnered with Phil’s Propellers in Shasta Lake City, Ca. and have a great working relationship with them! I purchase many of the items I use during my guided trips at Phil’s and have always found that they have a great selection and great prices on their merchandise. Their staff continues to be both friendly and helpful with their customers and have good knowledge of what they are recommending for purchase when asked. I recommend visiting them when you are in the Redding area before fishing with us. They have just about everything you might have left at home, but may need during your day of fishing with us.
